We have secured the brilliant facilities at the Focus Community Arena, home of National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town FC, on Sunday 12th May 2024 for Mind Games, a family friendly charity fundraising football day. There will be matches for both Community Kickabout’s Women and Men’s teams; our Women’s opponents will be the Herts Police women’s team, our Men will be facing Lads Speak Out and Celeb FC – a group of volunteers, made up of Musicians, Ex- Pro and Semi-Pro Footballers, Actors and Reality TV stars.
Off the pitch, there’ll be entertainment including a DJ, FREE face painting and glitter tattoos, prizes to win in a free to enter colouring competition (children under 10) and a quiz (children under 16) and a raffle. There will be hot food* and the football club bar will be open. *Food is cash only; entry, bar and raffle is cash or card.
Competition and Raffle Prizes:
We’ve gratefully received donations of raffle and competitions prizes; we have entry/experience vouchers for Drift Limits, Willows Activity Farm, Laser Quest, DJ’s Play Park, Ninja Warrior and the Snow Centre. There’s also Gaffer and The Entertainer gift vouchers, and champagne donated by the Green Man. We have signed merchandise from Watford FC, Hemel Hempstead Town FC and Hemel Storm basketball team. There will be further prizes to announce nearer the event!
Supporting Mind:
Proceeds from “Mind Games” will benefit Herts Mind Network, a vital organisation delivering mental health support across Hertfordshire. In Hemel Hempstead, Mind’s Nightlight Crisis House has four bed spaces that can be used if an overnight stay would help you resolve a crisis; beds are available seven days a week, 365 days a year. Mind also managed a Hemel based Helping Herts Café for Young People – a free welcoming drop-in space for children and young people to access support for their emotional wellbeing.

Getting to the Focus Community Arena.
The Focus Community Arena is at Vauxhall Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4RW. There is a car park, however with there being a number of teams competing, it will be busy and likely to fill quickly. If you’re driving and need to park away from the stadium in neighbouring streets, please be considerate of local residents. You will likely find it easier to park on Longlands, just a few minutes walk away, than on Vauxhall Road. The nearest Train Station is Hemel Hempstead (London Northwestern Railway) which is a 45 min walk from the station or a 6-8 min ride in a taxi. The 302 bus runs from Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead’s town centre to nearby Longlands, albeit only hourly on Sunday’s. The 20 bus runs more frequently on Sunday’s and also from Hemel Hempstead Train Station as well as the town centre, but is a slightly longer walk away stopping at Adeyfield Road.
Event Sponsor:
Community Kickabout extends heartfelt gratitude to BAR Electrical & Mechanical Services LTD, for their generous sponsorship, making this event possible. Without BAR’s and commitment in the initial planning stages, this event would not be taking place.
